Blaze Makoid Architecture, a member firm of the American Institute of Architects, is a Bridgehampton, NY based firm that specializes in the design of luxury modern homes in the Hamptons and Manhattan.

“When you hire an architect, it is because you are about to undergo a change in your lifestyle, location, or business. It is my responsibility to support this change for the people who live with the results every day.

In my work, I strive to absorb the existing context of the total site and translate that information along with the desire of the new project into a complete environment. The design of a modern home is not limited to architecture, or interior design or landscape design. The best work is a complete fusion of all; whether it is a building that is grounded to its site or furniture that compliments the room.

The luxury home design process in Eastern Long Island is often pressurized by the seasonal timetable that is unique to the Hamptons…summer reigns supreme. I have successfully adapted my years as a Design Director for large, urban, architectural firms into a practice model that allows, in collaboration with the owner, for a ‘fast-track’ design effort, often in tandem with the general contractor, that can compress the schedule without sacrificing the highest level of design quality. In this way, as a team, we produce modern home architecture that is both timely in delivery and timeless in its form.”
